Castle Hill Sydney
Castle Hill is located approximately 31 km North West of Sydney and is by far the most famous suburb within the Hills district.
Despite being popular Castle Hill remains a picturesque and quiet suburb due to the unique combination of Hills, Trees, Parks & Reserves.
Castle Hill is one of the largest suburbs in population in the Hills making up more than 17% of the total population in the Baulkham Hills Shire. According to the 2006 census Castle Hill has a population of 28,943 people compared to the whole shire with a population of 165,931. (ABS 2006 Census).
Castle Hill Town Centre as well as being the location of Castle Towers Shopping Centre comprises a large park, a number of small commercial office buildings, a Police Station, Castle Hill Library Complex and a variety of street shops which mainly front Old Northern Road and much more.
Castle Hill also comprises a large Trading Zone which incorporates a number of businesses ranging from Car Dealers to Smash Repairs to Homewares to Banks. The Trading Zone is also the home of Amway of Australia Headquarters.
Castle Hill is home to The Castle Hill Show which is on every March at Castle Hill Showground located on Carrington Road next to Baulkham Hills Shire Council and The Hills Entertainment Centre.
Major features of the area include Castle Towers Shopping Centre, Knightsbridge Shopping Centre, The Hills Centre, TAFE NSW - Western Sydney Institute (Building Industry Skills Centre), Castle Hill Cemetery, Castle Hill Heritage Park, Shire offices, Hills District Indoor Basketball Stadium, Castle Hill Showground, Bidjigal Reserve, Fred Caterson Reserve, Fullers Road Reserve and numerous schools.
